The history of Walldorf is extraordinary: the community is only 320 years old and was founded by Waldensian religious refugees from Piedmont. Since the Protestant Waldensians were not tolerated in the Franco-Catholic Duchy of Savoy in the 17th century, they left their homeland. A group of them was received in June 1699 at the (now defunct) manorial Gundhof near Mörfelden in the Protestant Landgraviate of Hesse-Darmstadt.
In 1702, fourteen families (54 people) decided to build their own village nearby. Along what is now Langstraße, which for a long time was Walldorf's only street, their half-timbered farms were built.

Interesting area with two half-timbered houses. In the inner courtyard a round wooden bench around a beech tree and a fountain. Information boards provide information about the origins of the former residents and the history of the house.
