An idyllic small lake that was artificially created in 1970. However, the idyll is somewhat deceptive; the lake apparently has major problems due to excessive nutrient content, over-fertilization and a serious lack of oxygen. The problems have been bothering the fishing club and the city of Filderstadt for years.

The beautifully situated lake is of course still a nice place to relax for hikers and cyclists. 🤗

The lake has nothing to do with the Bärensee at Bärenschlössle.

Hiking

My favorite lake right on my doorstep. Beautiful in every season, with water lilies, ducks and wild geese or frozen over with ice. In the middle of the lake is a small wooded island. The well-placed wooden benches invite you to relax. The back part of the lake is closed off by a natural monument sign "Protected zone for animals and plants".
