The stone memorial cross stands on the hiking trail from the Königsdorfer Wald up to the Glessener Höhe.
On May 7, 1815, the forester Johann Peter Vochem, who worked for the Brauweiler Abbey, was murdered at about this point (Wolter 2011, p. 306f).
The memorial cross bears the inscription:
1815 / May 7th died here / hit on a stick /
the noble head forester / Joh. Pet. Vochem / OK AM / RIP
