Hiking
Mount Egypt is a secondary eruptive cone within "Zone A" of the Etna Regional Park. This area is home to a forest full of laricio pine, Etna broom and, in particular, 56 majestic centenary oaks (Quercus pubescens). However, the invasive presence of pines, introduced 40 years ago, puts these oaks at risk: 28 are in danger and 7 are already dead. Safeguarding this biodiversity is essential.
