Towards the middle of the 15th century, due to the extension of the faubourg Sainte-Claire, a new gate was built to the west of the gate of Ysernon (Sainte-Claire). This explains the presence of these two fortified entrances in the same street a few hundred meters away, but of which no doubt more than 200 years separate their construction.
