At this point in the gorge, the Gravina river can be easily crossed. The path between the old town of Matera (Sassi di Matera), which towers west of the striking gorge, and the small town of Murgecchia (with highly interesting caves and rock-hewn churches!) To the northeast, runs through an extremely charming gorge and leads here to the deepest point over the Gravina river, which flows around Matera in wide arches in this gorge ..

Hiking
Interesting, sometimes a little steep path through the gorge between Matera and Murgecchia with crossing or crossing of the Gravina river at the lowest point.
