In the spring of 1945, countless death marches moved through Germany. This term is now used to describe the columns of concentration camp prisoners who were driven through the country by their guards. At the end of the war, the Nazis tried to move the prisoners from the concentration camps (KZ) to other camps. On April 14, 1945, such a procession of misery came through the Höllental near Lichtenberg.
