A plaque provides information: After the plague was introduced by Spanish soldiers in 1634 and 114 out of 450 inhabitants died from it, the Fieberkircherl was built as a vow when the plague ended. It is to be assumed that the plague cemetery, the so-called Pestacker, which was laid out far outside the village, is to be found around or in the immediate vicinity of the Fieberkapelle. From 1702 to 1762 it served as a replacement church, as the parish church had burned down and was only reconsecrated in 1762.
