Hiking
The year 1321 appears as the date of construction. The powder tower is over 700 years old, a real highlight of the city of Constance and has recently been extensively restored.

The powder tower was temporarily used as a municipal prison. So probably at the time of the council the robber baron Jörg von End was imprisoned in it. Following the council, several Jews were also imprisoned here with the permission of their patron, King Sigismund, in order to pay the king's council debts with the ransom sums.

Hiking
The Powder Tower on the Rhine in Constance used to be called the Brick Tower or the Judenturm. It was built by Jewish citizens as a cornerstone of the city fortifications and as a bastion in 1321.
The tower now serves as the guild house of the Niederburg fools' guild.
