Hiking

The Kaisertempelchen was built before 1888 by the Verschönerungsverein, the predecessor of the Eifelverein. Among the old Manderscheid residents, the viewpoint is still called „Jackenhäuschen“, derived from the field name „Auf der Jack“. Later, the pavilion was renamed Kaisertempelchen, in honor of the emperor or because the emperor enjoyed the view of the two castles during a visit here?
