"Alise-Sainte-Reine, village of Haute Côte-d'Or, constitutes the high place of the famous battle which opposed Vercingétorix to the armies of César. The name of this commune testifies to two great historical events. Alésia, where Vercingétorix, in - 52 BC, withstood the siege of the Roman army for two long months. "
