The 350-hectare recreational and nature reserve has been given back to nature and the sea. The routes within the Waterdunen are reserved exclusively for pedestrians so that the breeding and resting birds are not disturbed by cyclists or dogs. Bicycles must be parked at the signposted entrances and the numerous bicycle parking spaces provided for this purpose. The Waterdunen area may only be accessed on foot and only on the clearly visible paths and bridges.
