Embark on a moderate hike through the diverse landscapes of Ruislip Woods, Ruislip Lido, and Park Woods. This 6.2-mile (9.9 km) loop takes about 2 hours and 37 minutes to complete, featuring a gentle elevation gain of 306 feet (93 metres). You will wander through ancient semi-natural woodlands, which are the largest in Greater London, and enjoy pleasant views of the 60-acre Ruislip Lido with its artificial sandy beach. Expect a mix of paved and unpaved paths, with some sections of natural trail.

Before you head out, remember that some parts of the woodland can be uneven or muddy, especially after rain, so wear appropriate footwear. The starting point for this route is easily accessible by public transport, making it convenient for a day trip. While the trail is generally accessible, being prepared for varied terrain will ensure a more comfortable experience.

This trail offers a unique escape into nature within Greater London, being part of a National Nature Reserve. As you hike, you might spot various wildlife, including birds, squirrels, and even grass snakes. A fun highlight is the Ruislip Lido Railway, Britain's longest 12-inch gauge miniature railway, which runs through the woods around the reservoir. You can also discover the educational "Planets Walk" around the lake, adding an interesting twist to your stroll.
