As a result of the city fire on July 7, 1742, the previous building of the Evangelical City Church, like large parts of the city, burned down. Today's late baroque church building was therefore built between 1746 and 1750.

The town church on the Kurplatz was completed at the end of 1750 and the first services were celebrated here. Today's organ from the Plum company was installed in 1989.

Hiking

The town church stands on the spa square and from the outside shows its oval floor plan, which is preceded by a curved, three-axis tower front. Since the renovation in the 1980s, the structure of the facade has been kept in gray, brownish and white tones. The tower is convexly curved towards the front and is divided on the first floor by two Tuscan pilasters that support a belt cornice.
