Before 1846, there was a standard mill on approximately the same spot that was moved to Brouwershaven and that blew over on 28 December 1945.
Between 1905 and 1998, the mill was owned by the Pape family. Before that, the mill was also called 'Loddersmolen', a reference to the former millers/owners, the Lodder family.
