In 1858, a first fixed red light was mounted on a cast iron candelabra.
The first lighthouse in Saint-Tropez, called the “red lighthouse”, was built in 1866 at the end of the main pier. It was a more powerful fixed red light on a cylindrical masonry turret 15 m high. In 1932, it was electrified, and became a red light with three occultations every fifteen seconds.

Among the rich and beautiful. It's amazing, wonderful, admiring yachts and strolling through the alleys. St. Tropez was on our bike tour. We then took the boat/ferry over to Port Grimaud.
