Einsturzschacht on Karstwanderweg. Around 1900, a cavity collapsed here, consisting of penetrating stinking slate (the stone smells intense when rubbed against each other) through karstified Werra anhydrite underneath, leaving behind only the shaft. Is very nicely explained on the board.

The Hohnsdorfer Schlotte is located on a sloping ravine. If the unstable cave ceiling made of stink slate breaks through the actual cave in the Werra anhydrite, a shaft-like entrance is created. The Hohnsdorfer Schlotte was built around 1900. Today, however, only the collapse shaft remains.
