The Werra Bridge in Lindewerra is of particular importance for the residents of Lindewerra, because when it was completed in 1901 it connected the districts separated by the Werra. It was a six-arched sandstone bridge. On April 8, 1945, a part was blown up by soldiers of the German Wehrmacht. It was not until September 1998, well after reunification, that the reconstruction and renovation of the eastern part of the bridge, which is under monument protection, began. It was opened to traffic on July 17, 1999.
