Cycling

St. Andrew's is located on a small hill by the river and is built in the shape of a cross. The central tower and spire dominate the skyline, with a sound of six bells ringing from the center of the church. This feature can only be seen in about 16 churches in the country; and one of only 2 in the diocese.

A grade 1 listed church dating back to 1360. It's pretty grand (particularly given the size of Alfriston) and is situated in quite a setting, on a mound overlooking the Village Green and River Cuckmere. Due to its size and impressive architecture, the church has earned itself a reputation as the "Cathedral of the Downs".
