An imposing building that harmoniously forms the counterpart to the Protestant St. Nikolai Church.
After the great fire in 1840, the foundation stone was laid in 1842 and two floors were occupied by the city administration in 1846.
After the construction of the new town hall, this house was used as a district court, health center and others. used.

The old district court is also on the market opposite the church. The foundation stone for the neo-Romanesque building, initially designed as a new town hall after the city fire, was laid in 1843. The Kingdom of Saxony acquired it in 1852 to use it as a district court.
Today the building is used as a medical center by 3 general practitioners, a pediatrician, a physiotherapy practice and a pharmacy.

Hiking
The old town hall and the St. Nikolai church are opposite each other on an axis in the city park.
In general, the park is nicely laid out.
