The name Zinsfelder refers to a medieval town servant who collected the market penny (interest) on the market square (-feld) and paid attention to peace, order and honesty in the village. As a market Roland, he stands for market freedom. The octagonal column is decorated all around with a relief work that depicts allegories about the four seasons.

The Zinsfelderbrunnen was set up in 1660 in front of the town hall on the market square. The faces of the four seasons are worked into the fountain column: spring - the Roman goddess Flora, summer - goddess of fertility Demeter, autumn - the Roman god of wine Bacchus, winter - the end of the year.
