Hiking
The Königsjoch is a wonderful hiking destination with magnificent views of the Ötztal and the numerous three-thousand-meter peaks opposite. The pass became famous during the smuggling era, when the black market with South Tyrol flourished, and this is how many Ötztal residents created the basis for their current prosperity. The old customs houses on the North Tyrol side are still silent witnesses to that time.
