The entrance to Bird Island is via a long bridge. The island is home to small, winding paths, which are occasionally flooded or muddy. There are information panels along the way about the flora and fauna of the region. A highlight is the observation tower, which offers a fantastic view of the birds and the lake. There are seating areas at the tower.
