"Westwall - an environmental crime is turning into the opposite. More than 70 years ago, millions of tons of cement inflicted a deep wound on the landscape in western Germany. Today, the Westwall near Simmerath is an enchanted natural refuge. It can be admired and even walked on on a wonderful foray between Bickerath and Paustenbach. The lovely floodplain landscape of the Kall, wide views, mysterious stones and the odd beaver track are a sight to behold..."
