The "Nordenhamer Ox" made of light granite stands in front of the Nordenham train station. It was made by a Chinese artist. It symbolizes the first boom in North Ham in the middle of the 19th century, when oxen were shipped to England via the "ox pier" at the train station. It was donated by the Merchants' Guild in 2008 on the 100th anniversary of the city of Nordenham.
