Hiking

This replica of the reel system shows an early form of conveyor technology. It was used when the shaft was not too deep (up to approx. 25 meters). Reel servants used large cranks to wind the hoisting rope onto the wooden drum, thus uncovering hoisting vessels weighing around 120 kg.

Day breaks can be seen in the forest behind the reel system: collapse points of old mine workings that form trough-like depressions on the surface of the earth.
