Giechburg Castle is a castle ruin visible from afar above Scheßlitz and a popular destination for hikers, cyclists, and mountain bikers. It is situated on a prominent ridge and offers magnificent views of the Bamberg countryside. Directly adjacent to it rises the Gügel, a wooded limestone cliff with a pilgrimage church – both forming a scenic and culturally attractive ensemble. Easily accessible via hiking trails and forest roads. Suitable for mountain biking, the route is mostly non-technical. It is also easily accessible via paved paths for gravel or touring bikes.
