This difficult road cycling route covers 46.0 miles (74.0 km) with a substantial 3158 feet (962 metres) of elevation gain, typically taking around 3 hours and 37 minutes. Parking is available at the Appalachian Trail Culvers Gap Parking Area, making it a convenient starting point. Be prepared for a demanding ride that requires very good fitness, especially on the sustained climb to High Point.
Beyond the physical challenge, this route provides a unique opportunity to explore High Point State Park's diverse ecosystems, including an Atlantic white cedar swamp. The journey along the Kittatinny Ridge offers continuous scenic engagement, and crossing the Dingmans Ferry Bridge, one of the last privately-owned toll bridges in the US, adds a touch of historical charm to this memorable ride.
