So, you can definitely get through it (I did it with a gravel bike and luggage). Slowly, but doable. The Pole I met along the way was going much faster with a significantly worse bike – but he was also swearing much louder :). It's all a matter of attitude. If you're on the R10 and want to bypass that section, you have to turn off in Smoldzino (apparently, that's where the new route is being planned).
