1844 asks Mr Johannus B.H. van de Mortel (notary in 's-Hertogenbosch) issued a permit to "place a rose mill there between the existing corn barn and the aforementioned road". The permit was granted on April 12, 1844. A rose oil mill was then built in the shade of the large plane tree - on the grounds of 'De Gele Hoeve'.
