The Israelite cemetery on the Kappelberg in Gerolzhofen was laid out from 1631 to 1632. It is surrounded by a stable natural stone wall. On the north side, between two large stone pillars, is an iron gate, behind which is a two-story tahara house, the front door of which is secured with a wrought-iron gate. A good 500 tombstones have been preserved here. The last official burial was in February 1942. After that, the cemetery was declared closed. Unfortunately, the Jewish cemetery has been repeatedly desecrated over the decades.
