This Andalusian-era bridge has the peculiarity of resting on a plinth built on top of the rock that serves both as a support for the bridge and to channel the river under its arch.
It was part of a military path of the Cordovan defensive system to protect the fortress of Mayrit, known as the Middle Brand. The bridge connected the Tiétar Valley with Talamanca del Jarama.
