The Chuckwagon Trail is a classic Sedona trail. It's lined with cacti and offers sweeping views of red rock canyons and gullies while passing over sections of desert floor, slick rock, and rock gardens. This trail has it all.

Embark on the Chuckwagon Trail Loop for a challenging mountain biking experience through Sedona's iconic red rock landscape. This difficult route spans 6.9 miles (11.1 km) and features 424 feet (129 metres) of elevation gain, typically taking around 59 minutes to complete. You will navigate a mix of smooth singletrack, rolling terrain, and slickrock washes, all while riding through a picturesque pinion and juniper forest.

When planning your visit, be aware that the Chuckwagon Trail Loop is a popular destination, especially given its close proximity to Devil's Bridge. You should anticipate encountering many pedestrians in the initial sections of the trail near the trailheads. Parking is generally available, but the area can become quite busy, so an early start is often advisable. If you ride during the wet season, be prepared for potential creek crossings.

The trail offers impressive natural formations and provides stunning views into Boynton Canyon, along with glimpses of a massive butte near Mescal Mountain. This route delivers a true red rock amphitheater feel in many areas, showcasing the diverse and spectacular scenery that makes Sedona a world-renowned mountain biking destination. It is an excellent way to immerse yourself in the unique geological beauty of the Coconino National Forest.
