Obermontani Castle was built in 1228 by Albert II of Tyrol as a fortress against the Bishops of Chur and is the place where an original manuscript of the Nibelungenlied from the year 1323 was found. Today, the unique item is kept as the Nibelungen Manuscript Codex I in the Berlin State Library. Can only be viewed from the outside.
