This historic water wheel runs in the spa gardens. Unfortunately it is currently under water and that is not good for the larch wood from which it was built. It should always be kept moist ..., the old, earlier water wheel is not far away in a hedge.

The water wheels in the Salinental serve (d) to drive the pumps for the graduation works (salt works). Driven by a canal with Nahe water, the energy for the drive was available free of charge. The pumps allow the water to rise from the pools below the hedges for the next run through the drainage system.

When they run, there's something hypnotic-relaxing about the regular 'flap--flap--flap'
