Visitors to St. Mary's Church in Kahleby should not miss visiting the church forest, which is very close by. Here, the soil is covered all over with wild garlic, which forms a white carpet of flowers on the forest floor in May at the height of flowering. It is one of the few places in Schleswig-Holstein where this phenomenon can be observed.
