Biking the boardwalk's partially loose boards is a little tedious and noisy, but Coney Island is definitely worth it. Beach, promenade, amusement park, gastronomy. And a special feature: The eastern part is firmly in ex-Soviet hands, the west could be Little Cuba.

A century ago it was said, "If Paris is France, Coney Island is the world." No one would say that today, but if you want to experience Brooklyn go to Coney Island on a hot, summer day and bring a bathing suit. A bike trip to and from Coney Island has a few hazardous patches and the boardwalk itself is surprisingly rough on a bike, but to me it's all worth it.
