The Mühle-Biberenächer barrier follows the old three-lake defense line (Murten fortification) designed and built during the First World War. It includes more than ten concrete plants as well as two anti-tank obstacles. The old Biberenächer base from the First World War was used and modified to meet the new requirements. The throat ditch at the Biberenächer base was expanded and turned into a tank ditch in 1941. festung-oberland.ch/sperren/mechanisiert-division-1/biberenaecher
