The church is built on a probably artificially raised terrain. The partly enclosed tower consists of three storeys, the lowest of which is made of reused tuff stone. This is also the oldest part of the church and dates from the second half of the 13th century. The second storey is built of bricks; the third storey consists of demolition material that is sloppily plastered. These two storeys were added in the 14th century. The bell was cast around 1450 by William Butendiic.
