Hiking
The Macclesfield Canal is about 27½ miles (44 km) from Marple to Kidsgrove, with twelve scenic locks in between. It traverses beautiful Cheshire countryside and passes through the towns of Bollington, Macclesfield, and Congleton. You can enjoy a hike along the canal here near Poynton in tranquillity, and if need be, there is a nearby pub called the Boars Head if you want some refreshments.
