The monument to the victims of the 1972 Olympic attack is a sculpture by the German sculptor Fritz Koenig (1924–2017) and is titled Klagebalken. It was erected on September 27, 1995, in Munich's Olympiapark and is located on the connecting path from the Olympic Stadium to the former Olympic Village, precisely where a support cable for the tent roof construction is anchored. It commemorates the victims of the Munich massacre.
The memorial is a ten-meter-wide granite beam, supported in the middle by a pedestal.
