On the Mauerweg in the former border area between West Berlin and the surrounding GDR, you can now indulge in cherry blossoms for hundreds of meters: between Lichterfelde-Süd and Teltow there are over 1000 trees in the TV-Asahi-Kirschblütenallee. Once a year, a Hanami Festival (2022 as Cherry Blossom Weeks with a reduced programme) takes place here in the longest avenue of cherry blossoms in Berlin and Brandenburg, with a picnic, Japanese dishes and a cultural programme.
