Right next to the highest point on the island, the "White Dune - Wittdün", the Catholic Church of St. Peter can be found here. Not a small, cozy old church, but definitely worth a visit with its modern appearance!

In 1969/70, a Catholic church was built here, Up de Höcht, as a holiday church. Its tent-like shape, slightly slanted to the south, is visible from afar, even from the eastern end of Langeoog. It was designed by the Hamburg architectural firm Rau-Bunsmann-Scharf. To the north, a low-rise residential wing for visiting priests and sextons is located.
