Mountain biking
The Höllenmühle in Streckewalde - a district of Großrückerswalde - is romantically situated in the Sandbachtal and surrounded by forest. The former flour mill is powered by water power and can be visited on mill day. Much of the old technology has been preserved as it used to be. However, the water wheel was replaced by a Francis turbine in 1911. Milling continued here until 1972.

A beautiful historical photo opportunity on our tour! If you leave the relaxed path along the Preßnitz and turn off shortly before Streckewalde, it goes slightly uphill to the Höllenmühle. Important for the kids' expectations: The historic mill is privately owned and inhabited, so we can only admire this idyll from the outside.
💡 Family tip: The mill is a great little milestone on the route. After a short drink break, you continue comfortably up the Sandbachtal valley on paved paths – and there the next animal spectators are already waiting for you at the cow pasture.
