The Markus chapel seen in the photo is located on the Markusberg near Trier. It was built in 1902 by master builder Wilhelm Peter Schmitz on the site of a previous Gothic church. In addition, Markusberg was the destination of pious pilgrims who celebrated the so-called St. Mark's Festival here. This is still there today. During the course of its existence, several renovations were carried out on the St. Mark's Chapel, but its original appearance was preserved.
