Mountain biking

The Zlatý vrch (German Goldberg) (657 m) is a mountain in the Lusatian Mountains in northern Bohemia (Czech Republic). On the east and south sides, a quarry that was operated until 1973 seriously endangered the substance of the mountain. Because of the exposed basalt columns and the distinctive summit area, the mountain was again placed under protection as a national natural monument on 4.13 hectares in 1964. Source: Wikipedia

Very impressive basalt columns. But be careful! Always watch out for adders.

Hiking

Already in the 18th century, a quarry was operated here, in which one of the most beautiful columnar Basaltabsonderungen was discovered in the Czech Republic. The five- to six-cornered regular basalt columns are almost vertical. They are up to 12 m long and have a diameter of 20 - 40 cm. The entire formation is reminiscent of organ pipes and therefore it is often called stone organ - Kamenné varhany.
