New, old, reinvented and full of ideas, the Malt Factory lies on its hill in the middle of Ebeltoft, not far from the town's cobblestone streets. From here, you have a wonderful view of Ebeltoft Bay.
The Malt Factory is an important piece of Danish industrial history, reborn as an identity-creating, hospitable and vibrant centre for art, culture and creative industries.
The original factory was founded in 1861 by merchant Søren Buchtrup Lundberg and was subsequently run by several generations of the Lundberg family. Malt was produced in Ebeltoft until the end of 1998.
