Hiking

The castle Eschenbach is a former moated castle and is now a listed building. Since the 15th century, the building is owned by the Ebner family and is still largely preserved in its original state. Unfortunately, you can only view the picturesque castle from the outside, as a visit is not offered.

Eschenbach is a part of the municipality of Pommelsbrunn, it is located in the Hirschbachtal at the confluence of the Hirschbach in the Pegnitz. The consecration of a church to "Eschinebach" by Bishop Gundekar II around 1059 is also the earliest documented mention of the place and its church. Worth seeing: Gothic Paulskirche, Wasserburg of the Ebner von Eschenbach family and the Wengleinpark. Refreshments in the restaurant & beer garden "Grüner Schwan".
