Mountain biking
So-called towpaths used to be laid along rivers in order to pull small barges upriver with horses or other draft animals. You can easily imagine that it was a backbreaking job when you bump your (gravel) bike over the rough cobblestones. Still worth seeing and driving and a real detour into the (industrial) history of the Ruhr.
