The archway was part of the courtyard wall of the Burgmannshof of the Rauschenplat estate until 1968. With the - to put it mildly - redesign of the area changed the character of the gate, which today leads from the old city park and the old town hall to the car park at the church. The coat of arms of the von Rauschenplat family, which used to adorn the entrance to the courtyard, can now be found next to the archway.
